The two display pieces are being sold as a package. The white specimen is quartz and the yellow/brown specimen is Septarian.
#1. Septarian is also known as Septerye. Septarian specimens are geodes developed with a combination of yellow calcite, brown aragonite, grey limestone with white or clear barite. The word septarian comes from the Latin word "septum," meaning "partition." Septarian nodules contain angular cavities as a result of cracking, which are called “septaria” which create divisions throughout the stone. These unique septaria can be many dimensions and each septarian can develop many diverse cracks. Calcite leeches into the cracks of septarian to form calcite crystals on a layer of aragonite, on top of bentonite clay. Over time, bentonite is replaced with limestone, resulting in the nodule turning into stone.
This egg shaped Septarian specimen weights 66 oz (4.125 lbs.) and is about 6 inches long and 4 inches in diameter.
#2 Large Clear Quartz Crystal Specimen decorator center piece. This is a natural crystal specimen for use as a table display. It weighs 55 oz (3.44 lbs.) with dimension equal to approximately 4" x 6" x 7".
